Seniors Sewing Social - Learn to Sew Leg Warmers
Description
Join us for the Learn to Sew - Seniors Sewing Social, where participants will learn beginner sewing techniques and exercise their creativity by sewing a simple items. This session will focus on creating a leg warmers using recycled fabric. Participants are encouraged to bring their own recycled fabrics , which helps reduce textile waste and sustainability. A very limited number of spare fabric may be available for participants who are unable to bring their own.
However, bringing your own is highly recommended. Participants will learn basic sewing techniques they can use at home with their clothing, furniture, or bags. As well, participants will practice their fine motor skills by turning discarded textiles into sustainable everyday items or gifts. Lastly, we hope to "weave" connections with other thread-minded seniors in the community.
