Description
Melt-Banana have been charting their own course for decades. Since emerging from Tokyo in the 1990s, the duo of Yasuko Onuki and Ichiro Agata have developed a sonic universe that draws equally from noise, hardcore, grindcore and punk as it does from pop, electronics and experimental music. The result is a band that has consistently defied genre classifications, creating a sound that can only be described as unmistakably Melt-Banana.
Through an extensive discography and countless tours around the world, they have earned an almost legendary status among audiences and fellow musicians alike. This is reflected in collaborations with and recognition from artists such as John Zorn, Mike Patton, Melvins, Wire and Lou Reed. Live, Melt-Banana transform into an explosive force.
